Once inside, there wasn’t actually as many people there was you’d expected, but still there was a small crowd around BIGBANG.
All your representatives were there and the rest of your team. You hovered in the background, staring at Jiyong while trying to sip your drink and act natural. You fielded a couple of questions with the answers your publicist had prepared and twittered around, unsteady in your heels. You watched and waited- at last! A moment when Jiyong didn’t have a crowd around him. You took a breath and stepped forwards toward him when you tripped over something suddenly. Someone caught your arm, steadying you before you fell flat on your face.
Lee Seunghyun. “Gwaenchanh-a?” He peered at you intently as he righted you with his panda-like eyes. You nodded. “You’re from that new girl group right?” he asked you and you nodded again. You could tell that he didn’t remember your name. “You can call me Seung Ri,” he told you. Of all the boys, he was the only one who insisted on being called by his stage name. You supposed it was easier anyways, being that Choi Seunghyun was named that, as well.
You righted yourself and smoothed your skirt down. “So how you enjoying the business?” he asked you. His voice was so smooth it flowed through the air and dripped into your ears like honey. Shy, you answered him, looking at your feet.
“It’s been busy lately, but fun.”
He chuckled. “Yeah. Well, good luck with the debut and everything. Let me know if you need anything,” he said and with a wink he was gone. Omo, that boy was hot up close. Minji rushed to your side.
“What was that?” she asked you.
“I- I dunno..” you replied, a little confused yourself and wondering why he’d paid any attention to you at all. Even then, you could feel his eyes still on you as you made your way across the room.
“You know,” whispered Minji conspiratorially, “I think maybe he likes you.” You shrugged. You certainly weren’t the only girl Seung Ri had talked to that evening, and you doubted he’d continue thinking about you for long. Although… he was still staring. You giggled a little and walked with Minji over to Jiyong. He glanced up as the two of you approached.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” he said, bowing slightly and standing. Oh crap. It was happening again. Your throat closed over and you actually felt a little faint. You wished you could be as cool as the eonnies, who were mingling with the crowd like this was their everyday business. Thank goodness Minji was there to cover for you.
“Annyeonghaseyo,” she replied. “Your concert was great tonight.”
Jiyong grinned as you regained your breath. “Gomapseumnida,” he thanked the both of you and there was sort of an awkward silence, like he couldn’t quite figure out why you were talking to him. “Can I- er… get you something to drink?” he finally asked with a boyish smile.
To be continued…
